In order to keep an artistically safe and intimate class environment, we do not offer audits. In its place, we have designed this mini-class.
Within a Group Consultation, you will not only get to watch how John works with students, but also work with him personally.
Consultations also give John the opportunity to get to know you and your work and figure out the best next steps for YOU.
- We offer both in person and zoom consultaitons.
- Each group is capped at 6 students.
- You will be asked to prepare 2-3 pages of material from TV or film
- Do a work session & walk away with tools you can apply to your next audition.

*If you need to reschedule your appointment, we will be happy to do so one time without a fee. Any subsequent rescheduling will be treated as a new appointment and require additional payment.
**Any actors under the age of 18 who are interested in the studio should click on the YOUTH tab above to schedule a meet and greet with the heads of our Youth Division.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ's)
While we understand the desire to “audit” an acting class, our acting classes are intimate, where actors work every week. Often actors are revealing personal information about their careers, and we would prefer that they don’t have to be careful about what they say. We like to keep everyone’s privacy.
You prepare a 2-3 page scene from television or film. In case you don’t have sides, we provide you a dropbox link with options.
You will read with John or a Faculty member. More than anything, they just want to get a sense of who you are as a human and an actor. From there, we can figure out the best steps forward and whether acting class at JRS is right for you. You will get some adjustments, get a good idea of how we operate as a studio, and learn a few exciting skills you can apply to your work right away.
Anywhere from 2-6 people.
It would be great if you were off-book— as John and the Faculty would love to see you at your most prepared. But, if that is not possible, we will meet you wherever you are.
We have discovered that actors appreciate the convenience of the Zoom consult and can still attend even if there is a last second audition or life occurrence.
